Expanding the Boyd & Allister Studio

We're excited to share some big news: this August, our founder Jonathan Boyd, together with project partner Dalit Holzman, acquired The Feed Bin, a beloved feed store property at 1202 West Alameda Street in Santa Fe. It's a milestone that opens up an exciting new chapter for Boyd & Allister.

The Feed Bin has been part of the neighborhood's fabric for generations. Constructed in 1958, the property quickly became a fixture of West Alameda, known for years for its free-roaming chicks and ducklings before closing its doors in December 2023. Sitting on a 1.78-acre parcel along a high-traffic corridor, the two buildings on-site offer a rare opportunity in a city where space like this is increasingly hard to come by.

Looking ahead, we plan to relocate and expand our Boyd & Allister studio to the property, giving our team more room to grow as we take on larger installations and collaborations. Separately, Jonathan will be developing a new concept for the space with Leo's co-founder and James Beard Award-winning chef Zakary Pelaccio, expected in 2028.

"The Feed Bin's building has been an iconic part of this neighborhood for a long time, and I'm looking forward to bringing it new life," Jonathan says. "When we built Leo's, it wasn't about starting over - it was about listening to a building and figuring out what it wants to become next."

It's a philosophy that runs through everything we do. Leo's found its home in a former auto shop, our studio today took shape inside a former tortilla factory, and now The Feed Bin marks the next building we get to listen to. We'll be sharing more details on both the studio expansion and the new concept as plans develop - stay tuned.
